Privacy Policy for Social Media
Information on the Collection of Personal Data
The following provides information on the handling of your personal data in connection with our social media pages. Personal data includes all data that can personally identify you.
Please carefully consider which personal data you share with us via one of the platforms. As long as you are logged into your respective account and visit one of the platforms, the platform operator can associate this activity with your profile. We explicitly point out that the respective provider stores the data of its users (e.g., personal information, IP address, etc.) and may also use this data for business purposes.
We have no control over the collection and further processing of data by the platforms. Furthermore, it is not clear to us to what extent, where, and for how long the data is stored, whether the respective provider complies with deletion obligations, what evaluations and connections are made with the data, and to whom the data is passed on.
Data may be transferred to a third country or an international organization. Since July 2023, the EU Commission’s adequacy decision (Data Privacy Framework) has deemed the USA a third country with a level of data protection comparable to the EU. This adequacy decision now serves as the basis for data transfers to certified organizations in the USA. The providers listed here are certified under the Data Privacy Framework.

Instagram is part of the Facebook (Meta) group of companies and shares infrastructure, systems, technology, and potentially personal data (e.g., personal information, IP numbers, etc.) with Facebook (Meta) and other Facebook (Meta) companies.
We process personal data on our Instagram page, and at the same time, data is also processed by Facebook (Meta) as the operator of the Instagram platform.
The data you enter on Instagram, particularly your username and the content published under your account, is processed by us to the extent that we link to your posts, respond to them, or create posts referencing your account. The data you freely publish and share on Instagram is incorporated into our offering and made accessible to our followers.
The recipient of the data you enter or share on our Instagram page is also Instagram or Facebook (Meta), which may use this data for their purposes and transfer it to third parties under their responsibility. To the extent that the data you share with us via Facebook (Meta) is also or exclusively processed by Facebook (Meta) (Insights data), Facebook (Meta) Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2 Ireland, is responsible for data processing under GDPR. This data processing is based on an agreement between joint controllers under Article 26 GDPR.
Using Instagram involves the collection, transfer, storage, disclosure, and use of your personal data by Instagram, independently of your residence, in the United States, Ireland, or any other country where Facebook (Meta) operates.
Instagram and Facebook (Meta) process both the data you voluntarily provide, such as your name, username, email address, and phone number, and also analyze the content you share to determine the topics you are interested in. They also store and process confidential messages you send directly to other users and can determine your location using GPS data, wireless network information, or your IP address to deliver advertisements or other content to you.
Finally, Facebook (Meta) also receives information when you view content, even if you have not created an account. These so-called “log data” may include the IP address, browser type, operating system, information about the previously visited website and the pages you view, your location, your mobile provider, the device you use (including device ID and application ID), search terms, and cookie information.
Data Processing for Statistical and Marketing Purposes
Instagram provides us with so-called Page Insights for our Instagram page. These are aggregated data that help us understand how people interact with our page. Page Insights may be based on personal data collected in connection with visits to or interactions with our page and its content. This serves our overriding legitimate interest in an optimized presentation of our offering and effective communication with customers and interested parties under Article 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. You can object to the processing of your data for these purposes at any time by adjusting your ad settings in your Instagram user account accordingly.

If your contact aims to conclude a contract, the additional legal basis for processing is Article 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Your data will be deleted after your request has been processed, provided that no statutory retention obligations conflict.
